PC faced with stuttering issues
Good morning/afternoon!

So, while i cant pinpoint when exactly, i've noticed my computer has taken up some stuttering issues as of recetly, and i cannot pinpoint anything.

What i have tried
  • Watched Resource Monitor / Task Manager Performance
(No noticable changes, apparently. CPU and GPU are typically on the down low, the highest being 30% on the 3D under GPU.)
  • Reinstalled windows
(I have kept my files however)
  • Ran thorough security checks
    (No viruses, Trojans, etc)
  • Debloated and Disk Cleanup on all Internal and Extrenal devices
  • Thoroughly cleaned (Some decently dusty) fans

I tried what i feel like everything, and i skimmed through a lot of reddit and youtube Such as this guide to do what i can, but avoid a completely fresh reset of my computer.
At this point i'm willing to accept any advice.

Additional Information

I have to test this more but my PC seems to work perfectly fine upon starting up after being powered off, and i don't think i noticed any changes until i play a game.

I do also notice sometimes my Wifi seems to spike for a moment and go back down when veiwing it within Performance via the task manager.

I'm seeking any solution suggestions outside of having to pay for anything (such as CCleaner or a repair shop), and i'd like to save completely wiping my system and fresh installing as a last resort, as the process to re-install all of my games and software is grueling, even when moving it to a extrenal drive.

Some System Details

Graphics card : RTX 3050
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050
CPU : 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600KF
Installed RAM : 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)
System type : 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

C: Drive - 127/464 GB Free
D: External Drive - 1.72TB/1.81TB Free (this is a extrenal drive, no games downloaded on here)
E: Drive - 1.42TB/3.63TB Free

Again, any help would be amazing!

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

if games are installed on the external drive that alone will cause stuttering
usb has ver low iops vs compared to internal nvme or sata drive connections
usb can only deal with one command at a time, not good for random io requests that games need

My external drive is more for temporary files and projects. Game-wise they are downloaded onto my internal drives to avoid any issues

ok this is weird one but open DEVICE MANAGER and find NVIDIA HDMI AUDIO and DISABLE IT......

long story short the HDMI port uses a generic sound card to pass audio on the port and its waiting on a return signal that never comes.....
i dont think this a hardisk problem, but lets try unplugged every other disk than C,
Stutter like the game is like slow motion then catching up fps , or hiccup stutter
game you playing cpu bound or gpu

I seemingly was able to solve the issue.

I unpluged everything from my PC and let it drain its power for around 10 minutes. While i waited i opened up the case and cleaned out some dust, and it worked seemingly perfect.

I think it might be somthing power-related?
I have it set up so it does NOT hibernate when i turn it off, but apparently its still active.
and dont forget turn off Fast-startup
happy to hear
