That depends on what browser you install and what DRM bollocks it wants.

I just watch youtube and archive.org videos. Librewolf plays them just fine.

Well it answers your question perfectly fine and explains what to do.

Amazon Prime works fine for me on Ubuntu but they won't give you 4K UHD resolution. If you aren't fussy about the resolution, it's fine.

But the Steam Deck display is nowhere near 4K so I would think the standard resolution Amazon Prime videos should look fine on that. Honestly even if the Steam Deck was 4K it still arguably wouldn't be a problem because the display is not large enough for the resolution difference to be visible.

Why does this apply to you and your Steam Deck? Steam Deck runs Linux, and Ubuntu is also Linux. So if it works for me on Ubuntu it should work for you on the Steam Deck.

So you should have a good time with the Steam Deck.
Most streaming apps won't give you 4K on PC; it's always been that way.
They want you to use the app on a 4K TV for that.

Just set your Netflix or Amazon to the highest quality once a video starts playing and if available better picture quality for that video; it should look very good; even if your Monitor is 4K

Yeah, that guy has been worthless in literally every post they've ever commented in.
No how about you grow a pair and learn to juat do a simple 2 sec online search first. Those can often times answer your intended questions and even have a how to or a video that details helping troubleshoot steps or info to simply answer your questions. Overall I'd say it's a dumb question to even have a thread for.

you have some issues mate, i want a clear answer before i spend $1100 on something i do not trust what some random AI bot tells me, if it says they will run them then turns out they don't will steam take a return free of charge or i just buy a small laptop and use game streaming
Maybe look at some decent Android based devices, has all the streaming apps and can do game streaming.
