usb 3.0 recognized as usb 2.0
so, i got a usb 3.0 cable that used to work with my old VR headset, now its saying its usb 2.0 despite being plugged into the 3.0 usb slot and stuttering like hell (checked on other devices and its working fine with everything so its not a broken cable)

2.0 vs 3.0 has zero to do with the cable.

What color is the USB port?

3.x are typically Blue or Red
1.1/2.0 only are typically Black/Yellow

Maybe try a different cable and ensure it's a DataSync cable

Does the VR have any menu settings of it's own? Or software?

its a blue usb port and its specifically branded as 3.0 and worked in the past not too long ago with data transfer without any settings changes needed
Well yes that is very strange. Is it a Front USB? It could be possible that is plugged into a USB 2.0 pinned header on the Motherboard. Try a different Rear USB port perhaps if have not already.

If all else fails get another cable. A thick one too. Longer thin USB cables often have too many problems. Such as very slow charging rates.
its simple....3.0 will default to 2.0 when the connections get broken....

in short you have broken one or more wires in that USB cable
