right clock empty section of desktop.....click display settings.....on the page that pops up make sure the monitor in question is highlighted in BLUE and scroll down to ADVANCED DISPLAY SETTINGS at the bottom.....click it.....refresh rate will be at the bottom of this new window.....set it to 180hz
if this is set right turning on Vsync in game will now cap it at a 180hz......you dont have to turn on Vsync but its nice when playing older games to cap frame rates
Its set to 180hz in windows and nvidia. I got gsync + vsync enabled. I usually use RTSS to cap my fps because vsync adds tons of input lag.
It still switches back to 60hz whenever i tab out in borderless window mode.
could be game setting to cap fps when focus is lost
if its with all games, then it may be driver setting or something borked with them
use ddu to wipe drivers in safe mode, then reinstall again without internet so windows does not try to install generic drivers first
