Extremely loud buzzing from quest mic when not even plugged in.
I always leave my quest 2 unplugged from my pc when not using it, which is usually at least weeks or months at a time, and for some reason windows decides to default to it when my main mic isn't plugged in which is most of the time. This isn't that big of a deal but it's always a big jump scare when I open up a video and didn't realise it picked up my quest 2's loud ass buzzing. I don't even need to fix the buzzing just need a way to make windows default to another mic when my main is unplugged.

1. Maybe you plugged the speaker cable into the wrong port, which caused loud buzzing. Are the ports pink and light green?? or the cable itself has issues.

2. Have you installed any 3rd-party mixer software on your Windows?

BTW, try this to see if it fixes it so you can completely mute your microphone from your Windows:

Control Panel >> Hardware and Sound >> Sound >> Recording Tab >> Double click on Microphone >> Levels Tab >> Click on the speaker icon to mute the microphone.

This will mute any input voices, whether the cable is plugged in or not.

I just disabled the mic in the same menu since for some reason the apply button is grayed out when I try to mute it, thanks for the help though.
