I never really researched how the quest 3 would perform better connected you can access your games on Steam but better graphics.... I need proof
I have and play with a quest 3 connected to a somewhat high end PC btw (specs in my profile)
Edit: It doesn't take anything away from the quest though I play VR since the start and had a few dedicated VR headsets like HP G2 and the quest has definitely better visual quality than the G2 .
Never had a n index but with what I know and researched on it lens type, quality of tracking even if some peoples swear by those modules that always give them problems I could've bought an index but I didn't, I concluded that the G2 was better (even if now it's discontinued)
It's not always the PC's power when it comes to VR it's the technology. Granted it fails in some points like battery life but if you use the right cable you can play indefinitely like a dedicated VR headset as for tracking I never even had a hint of problem with the quest controllers and when I play and battery fails I can just switch them WHILE I play not stop to recharge like a famous headset
