Im an Idiot
I put a 'RB128' wire into a PSU to connect a fan hub. I didnt notice the label and thought it was a decent wire. Pop no start. Hope I didnt break it.

define rb128 wire

fan hub should either take a molex or sata power connector to power its fans
and if you connect a fan source cable from the mobo, its pwm signal will control all fans speeds, and send back rpm/sense signal from one fan to the board

Yea it had a SATA connector and 6 pin connector so I thought it was good to stick in the PSU, nope, apparantly it was for a case and could cause problems with a PSU. I dont know if it auto shut off safely or fried my connectors.

what fan hub do you have?
it shouldnt have a 6pin, some might have a 2pin or 4pin for the mobo connector to a fan header

Its the regular fan hubs that come with the case. Yea they have those tiny 4 pin things. But on the bottom where you plug it in to the power is a SATA plug in. Then the other ends is splits with SATA and the type of 6 pin with fat prongs that fits into the back of a PSU. So you can see why I thought this is where it goes. Well it is where it goes, but wasnt supposed to use a wire labeled 'RB128'. Those are case wires. Its said that can fry the fan hub. But my entire system wouldnt turn on.

what case and power supply?
brand/models?

its strange that they would use a connector like that on the fan header
modular power supplies often use s 6pin connector for their sata/molex cables, and should be labeled as such

Ya it probably came with both and I just used the wrong one. They probably should be more specific. But then again I have an office full of wires so no telling if I grabbed the wrong one.

Its a Sama case with a Phanteks AMP 1000W V2 80plus gold/white ed. PSU.
