Second monitor losing signal when gpu accelerated application is in focus
So this is a weird issue on Windows 11 that is driving me nuts.

Whenever i use a gpu accelerated application, for example a video game, Adobe software or LibreOffice, my secondary monitor will lose the signal and turn off after a while. However, this is only while said application is in focus - in case i tab out or focus something else like my browser window playing a YouTube video, the display does turn on again and i can see the content as expected.

I have not yet found any setting that does prevent this from happening and i do not remember configuring anything that could have caused this. When using another boot drive with Linux everything does seem to be fine.

I am using W11 with the latest Updates and drivers as well as a 7800X3D and RTX 4080.

Id appreciate any help, i am kinda out of ideas

you kind of answered it by using linux which means its a driver issue so just ddu the driver
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/display-driver-uninstaller-DDU-

if the problem even after reinstalling the driver happens try the studio driver or try a older nvidia driver the drivers for nvidia cards hasn't been all that good for a while now its like amd and nvidia flipped the only cards that do seem to be safe from any issue are the rtx 2000 series the rest are all fair game in getting various weird issues

you can still game with studio drivers if it comes down to that although the studio drivers take a bit longer to feature things the game drivers has as driver stability is the main focus
