How do you make a flame thrower the primitive style? ( without technology/ made from salvaging natural resources?
Lets say that you that you were transported 6000 years back into time, how would you craft a flamethrower? Also, lets say that you have built a stove that can melt most metal ( this is achievable by making a proper furnace with air fan) How do you make the fuel? (perhaps wood gas?) and how would you compress the fuel into a tank? Also how would you make a high pressure tank???

When you burn wood particle pollution is released that contains benzene, formaldhyde, acrolein and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). To make this usable as a fuel for a home made flamethrower you would need to filter it first which would require a complex pressurisation system beyond what would be available in 4000BC and a simple bellows furnace.

This is perhaps more what you would be looking at...

Flammable spray can + fire.
Or more primitive methods is doing like Kenny in the South Park movies with fart and fire.

I cannot think of any good reason to answer this question at all, other than to say that nobody should. There is no good reason for anyone to need a self-constructed flaemthrower when they don't understand how they operaate, and can't be bothered to find out.

Well heres one.

Back in 2001 (I think) a friend of mine bought a fixerupper house that came with a decent plot of land out the back that was over grown to the extreme, in a day 3 of us barely cleared a tenth of the garden, the second day we bought 3 LPG tanks and cleared the rest in about 4 hours, fire extinguishers, buckets of water and a hose on hand ofc.

... they are still flammable even without filtering and i find using a bubbler works as an 'okay filter'

That's not fun isn't it

Profit!

(There you go, you primitive.) :steammocking:
ouh i knew about this, but only if you have a freezing lake, and how would you make the flamethrower itself? plus the amount of gas produced isn't that much and not too sustainable.

i do understand completely how flamethrowers work, i've used flamethrowers many times already. Which made me wonder how would i make one without my already existing tools and materials. I know how to play with fire.
I don't think you're bothered to understand what im trying to ask in the first place

Of course there isn´t. This question is so stupid you can only expect dumb answers.

You can´t make fire without knowing how to make fire. Creating fire is a technology.
yes a technology, primitive technology... I can't see what you're trying to say or imply.

haha even with all those fire extinguishers and water, I would never do something like that xD
How brave

build an air pump and make oil from whale fat. it should work fine
Plaid 28 Jan, 2018 @ 11:19am
you can't do it without technology.

Light a match and let one go. Just don't set your hand on fire, because you won't be laughing afterward. Your friends might, though.

I bet you, I can make it without modern technology

This is actually a legit answer that I'm asking for, thanks
But surely this isn't the only way to do it
Maybe someone could think of a more compact and if possible, a One-Man-Flamethrower ( only one person required to use it)
