No pasta, no eggs
Just posting for no reason. I came here to post and chew gum. And, I am all ...
I live in SW USA. Just came from the supermarket. There was no toilet paper, no eggs and no pasta. I did want eggs and a bunch of pasta. I should have enough toilet paper but I can live without that. I know someone who must take a shower after he poops. I can do the same. Or use alternative paper and put it into the trash. Do not ever flush the alternative stuff. It will clog the drain. The supermarket is usually open 6am to midnight. Now it is 7am to 9pm. Very good thing I went at 8pm. I have more food in the house right now then I ever had in my life. Because I am lazy and I hate to cook or grocery shop. I eat fast food and takeout way too much.

One thing you should have if you don't already: a rice cooker. Just... everyone should have a rice cooker and a 5lb bag of nice rice.

Agreed. I have one of those and they're wonderful.

Yes, Correct. I do have that. I forgot to look if they still had more rice. I was trying to hurry because the store was going to close.

...better get used to it because its only going to get worse until the feds take over the grocery system as "critical infrastructure". You should have thought ahead and bought 50 lbs. of basically everything like we did.

Here comes the panicked stampede, humans are just hopeless sometimes.

Maybe. I have enough to last at least 2-3 weeks without getting more. But rice everyday will get boring. The 24 hr Mexican take out was still open. Maybe I can freeze 20 burritos. :) But my freezer section is small and kinda filled up now.

Paranoid me thinks that the paper companies spammed the "news" about the run on toilet paper.

My supermarket was not very crowded. Looked like a typical night. But a lot of empty areas on the shelves. When it all blows over, I think the supermarkets will do a very poor business for a while. Because everyone will be using up all the extra stuff they bought.

What would we do if we were dealing with the Black Death? Killed one third of the entire population of Europe in one year.

Join the club, we have a bunch of fu*k t^rds here in Western Australia, cleaning out the shelves of meat, dunny paper, panadol, bread, pasta.

One of the supermarket chains has started a system where pensioners and old people only, have access to the supermarket from 7am to 8am.

Bloody disgrace when all these moronic imbeciles get sucked in by the hysteria driven by the media and think only of themselves.

Imagine how crazy people would be if they banned smut from the internet.

you can't apply logic to the situation. scaremongering is the only way the masses are going to pay any attention. i'd rather they be scared and concerned rather than being complacent and unwilling to do anything.
In 2 months the usa will be completely out of food. This is my premonition.

My grocery store got stripped bare by hoarders too. It takes a special kind of scumbag to literally deprive those most in need from being able to get food. You know it isn't the disabled and the elderly doing this.

Quite frankly, I'm more pissed at the grocery stores for letting it happen. We all know they can impose and enforce items limits, they do it every week when they send out flyers..."SALE! Cans of frozen peas for twelve cents, limit six per customer".

The only reason this happens is that grocers want the fast bucks just as much as the selfish opportunists do.
