There is no perfect game
Beginning
Ever since the beginning of gaming industry, developers and game companies have tried to create the so called 'perfect game'. But there have not been one single game up to this date that have been perfect. I'll tell you why.

With my creative imagination, and many others, there are still not "that" game out in the market out today that we want to play. Many games lacks lots and lots of features of what we desire as a gamer, or what we want to see in a game. A perfect game should realistic be a "a little bit of everything". But as most are familiar with, a game that blend many genres is a failure. However, in the world of perfectionism, the perfect game must include many or if not all genres.

The Contestants
Everyone knows about Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Half-Life, The Sims, World of Warcraft, Fortnite, Runescape and many more. Let me tell you, these games are not perfect. Some are even far from perfect.

A perfect game is not all about the graphics either, although you cannot hide from the fact that a perfect game should have also a artistic appealing look and be satisfying to look at. It can't look like total garbage even if it has good gameplay and features.

If you could think for yourself, what game would you like to have? If you could make a game, what game would you make? If you could create a game in your mind, what would it be? That can be the definition of the 'perfect game'. However as everybody thinks different, creating the perfect game for everyone is nearly impossible, so to even achieve the perfect game status it needs to appeal atleast 99% of the people. (sorry the 1%)

Some games that are worthy of mentions that have nearly succeeded, however is, Grand Theft Auto V and Rimworld, but just not quite there.

The big no-no's however what to NOT do when you make the perfect game is:
  • Fill it with P2W / microtransactions
  • Making it mobile/tablet version (must be on PC)
  • Affiliate / force Facebook or other 3rd party software with it

Technology
We are closing out on 2020, soon it's 2021, we have already enter a new era of technology, with 8K gaming, graphics memory over 20GB, over 10,000 cuda cores, 8-10 cpu cores with 16-20 threads, it's not like back in the day when the game couldn't be made with that technology of that time. Today we have technology to make the perfect game, so why isn't any perfect game being released or being developed?

I feel the reason to be because of crap / ♥♥♥♥ developers, who either don't care about the community of gamers, or have no idea what they are doing when they decide to make a new game. We have often seen 1-man projects that have made better games then triple-A studios. That is exactly the reason why. Now imagine if you put all those 1-man studios together into one studio and make the perfect game together, then there is a chance to make the perfect game.

Final Thoughts
I am really sad that during of my life there haven't been released one single perfect game of all my 30 years, since I started play video games back in 1990's with Warcraft 2 and Dungeon Keeper. That I have had this gaming vision of ideas ever since I was mid/late teens about games, and not a single game of my idea have been developed or released. It's tiredsome and quite frank sick of all the new games coming out are just replicas or another remake of another game that already exists. (usually more often a weaker version then the game it trying to duplicate)

Sick of Counter-Strike, The Sims, and all other games (even today the game Among Us everybody is playing) there is a hundred ways to make all of this games better then they currently are. You can't blame technology anymore.

I just hope to see the perfect game come out someday before I turn 100 years old.

Peace out

A perfect world is a world without god.

The only perfect game you'll find is the one you make yourself. :)

Who is everyone, not me that's fur sure.

Three things come to mind.

One. Seven of Nine : "You are flawed"

Two. Begging the question:
Claim X assumes X is true.
Therefore, claim X is true.

Three. Homer Simpson wanted a perfect turkey sandwich and it turned out to be little dry.

Perfection for you would be crap for anyone but you.

So...

Turns out there ARE hundreds if not THOUSANDS of "perfect games".

YOU just don't want them, because they aren't perfect for YOU.

Move on.

Wrong wrong aaaand wrong.
They created games cause they wanted and not the so called *perfect game* cause this depends on which scale you want to messure it and who wants to messure it.
And there where plenty of games that count as classics and Top Games even up to this day.
*Zelda Ocarina of Time* is an example of a game that was a great deal for gaming industry because of its 3d and rpg elements that inspired a lot of games that followed.

You have a creative imagination, then why havent you developed a game yet?
Or at least a concept script you could send to a publisher!?
And realistic?
Do you want an interactive movie or what? Have you ever heard of the curve when realistic turns into creepy *and a game looks weird when it falls down that curve.
Mixing all Genres wouldnt be a good idea. A Game doesnt need to have everything in it, it just needs to be immersive. Draging Players into its world and giving them joy and fun while playing.

...
The only one of those you listed i have ever played was Half-Life. So much to *everyone knows about...*
And perfect to whoem?
Again.. previous points about it depends on who looks at it aaand immersion and fun.

If people like graphic with High-Poly-Meshes and High-Resolution Textures then i quess a game that focuses on those aspects count as *perfect games* for those people.
And Like previous mentioned about preferences.. the same thing counts for Art.
Some people even think a white Canvas is Art and worth more than millions of dollars. So...!?

Games i would like to have are on my wishlist. Cyberpunk 2077 is an example of a game i really want to play.
What game i would make? Those who would look close to the kind i would like to create.. simple.
And btw. nobody tries to make something that appeals to 99%.
First things first,.. if you want to sell a product you need to know who your target audience will be.
Then you try to figure out what that target audience would like the most. Then you try to create something into that direction.
The goal is not to appeal to 99% of the entire world population. The Goal is to get enough customers interested to have an Income of Money.
Cause if you get more money than spend for production you will be able to start another project.

I quess you picked those because you liked them, but how much income did they generate for the publishers?
And "No to Mobile",... are you kidding? Mobile market is one of the biggest ones a Game Publisher can create games for. More poeple have a smart phone than a PC. -.-
I give you the 2 points about p2w and third party software, both have nothing to do with actual gaming and shouldnt be implemented in Game-Software.

Some people have such machines,.. other still have older machines.
As a Game-Developer that must be considered while developing or the amount of Customers will be small.
Even if the latest PC would be able to simulate a holodeck like in Star Trek, Publisher will still try to create Games for as many people as possible, therefore ordering Games which will not require such a technology.

See previous Point about *why*.
And to the big Studios,, they are mostly working for Publishers. And its the Publisher who order the Games. So its also the Publishers who say what type of Games they want.
And the Publisher is also paying the Developers for working on that Project.
Little Indie Studios have more freedom in that sense, but also have to carry the entire risk and consequences if the project fails.
If you want a big Project to go, then you have to provide a big payment for the Developers. So if you are rich you can Pay and order Developers to make something special.

Well, better copying the Games that brought the Publishers money then trying to have a higher risk by creating something new and untested.
And yep its not the technologies fault,.. its the Gamers fault.
As long as Gamers pay for every single published Game, or even worse for just the promise of a Game, the Publishers and Developers will produce.. cheap!
But here and there there will be a nice one and those will push the Gaming-Industry forward.
So look at the 30 Years you played Games, how they developed and think about how much more they will develop in future years.
And support goood Projects with your wallet and stay away from empty promisses. ;P

Honestly, this reads like a clickbait article.

Nothing is perfect, everybody knows nothing is perfect, and I'm pretty sure "since the beginning of gaming industry, developers and game companies have tried to create the so called 'perfect game'" is something you just made up.

Uh...

Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. My perfect games are donkey kong Jr. and Red Dead Redemption. I can and do play them all the time. They are my bliss in gaming.

I actually believe that Nuclearoids, a flash game, is literally perfect. With Flash being deprecated, it's still going to be playable thanks to Newgrounds player, but ... I feel I really should at some point write up why I think this. From the music and fx, the level pacing, replayability, and skill:luck ratio, flashy colors, and 'takes little to learn but a lot to master' feel... yeah, perfection.

It's a 10 year old game this month.

There is no perfect game... Beyond the scope of light, beyond the reach or dark... What could possibly await us? Yet we seek it insatiable. Such is our fate

A perfect product would need to be both original and flawless. You must understand that humans are incapable of being either-or, much less create it. Even our species' idea of perfection can be considered flawed.

Masterpiece and perfection are the most overused words here in gaming.
