Very very rarely.
Very very often.

The more warnings and bans I get... the more I do it... I can take a hint, lol
How often?..
Well that depends on the thread... I've been either staying away or just limiting "hot topic" threads lately unless I have a bone to pick... I'm here to play games, posting in Threads ( and more so Off Topic ) is just a way to take up time between matches.
Can you get a permaban? Or just months?
Permabans exist but I have no idea if they are still given out. The paid mods are either more lenient or more lazy depending on how you want to look at it, since many of the more argumentative threads that get hundreds of replies used to be locked much faster with the old volunteer mods.
Never, unless it was a dupe or it's right after I send it and realize I had mistaken some key fact that would now make the post pointless.
I feel deleting a post is an insult to those who have bothered to read it. It's an online social faux pas.
I will edit a post, but not to mask a mistake or make my post look better, but to correct errors. Where those are errors of argument or content, I'll note it. I also write "Add:Edit - " to note corrections, additions, where those are significant.
I consider this kind of place a two-way street. Everything, once posted, belongs to the community and its members in terms of being offered up for discussion. I don't own a thread or a post, I'm just the Editor...
And.. I'm an adult... I'm less likely to post in haste with little consideration. (Though, I'm capable of it.)
PS: I have deleted portions or edited due to a request. But, I'll note such.
Similar for me. Usually I delete a post if I think it might be taken the wrong way. Doesn't happen often.
