Meeting Forum Folks in Person

People often express interest in meeting up, but when I actually make the effort to show up, only a handful, maybe 3 out of 50, actually follow thro. it makes me wonder: what keeps people from showing up in person? Are they so accustomed to false promises or pretending that they feel too intimidated to face reality?

Would you be willing to meet ur best friends from the forums irl? Or have u lied too much bout urself that u too are ashamed to face them?

As to why people aren't willing to meet in person, it's because they lack confidence. Most people in the world are brave online, but in the real world, they are scared puppies with no self-esteem.

I've met up with people via forums before but only from professional websites (mainly fashion and fitness forums).

On Off Topic, I'd be happy to meet friends who are closer to me. I didn't make up nor lie about my myself anyway so I have nothing to hide.

i saw a thing where a child got killed by some rando that he met on roblox. (roblox was what they were talking on)
the worst part? it was on mothers day or the victims mothers birthday.

I used to be a mod for this site called anime twist when it had a chat. I met a few of those people. Even dated one in person for a bit.

I also had uh.. relations with someone I met on omegle. I'm an old man now. My days traipsing across the country are over.

i don't have any friends. but if i did, i'd meet em in the local pub.

ain't no way i'm going as far as booking a plane ticket or anything like that.
but if the person is around my area, i wouldn't mind linking up and having a pint with em.

If we're talking about meeting those on the other side of the planet or distanced X countries afar, then only and only if I were to be a millionaire and could've actually afforded to ditch my responsibilities for that while.

Another reason is the always mentioned language barrier.
You do know how communication can get when you don't understand the other person, right? .. Except that now you don't understand them entirely, because they're unable to express themselves due to the lack of knowledge, which'd be my case.
I do know a word or two, but I can barely talk in English, not to mention the so difficult anxiety that comes from meeting the other people; Despite being an extroverted person, socializing does actually stress me out to the point of sucking the energy out of me, literally.

Because nobody from OT lives in Czech Republic, and because I'm not a millionaire..-
Welp, such would be my reasons that I surely mentioned that year ago in the topic of the exact same thread, unless I forgot to mention something.
