Similarities with Rome..
What are some of the things we're witnessing these days, that can be compared with rome ?

Were they giving away billions of dollars to another country because of a war ?

Did they have a "pride" month ?

Well the torturing of people has increased massively since 2022 with the Russians building their empire.

The taking of land that does not belong to them because people wanted to vote for an independent country over being a vassal to Russia is kind of similar.

Engineering wise?
Well Russia is not doing too good on that front where in Rome intelligence and ingenuity and practical application towards big projects was desirable in Russia they have none of those things.

Military ?
Rome had a much more powerful military compared to other countries with a focus on keeping their own citizens alive and having other soldiers ready to do the fighting while the romans also did the intelligent things (like not blowing up dams and not making cracks in nuclear energy type buildings).
Russia seems to have a different approach to war they throw lots of people at it and if that does not work they throw even more at it.

Many Romans seemed to enjoy pride like things unlike the Kremlin who likes to lock people up who celebrate their sexuality.

In as far as the Torturing and 'want' of expansion goes I would say Russia is quite Rome like but Military and Engineering wise it is a bit behind.

We should start a Go Fund Me to buy Americans mirrors so they can take a hard look at themselves before they open their mouth and start pointing fingers, especially at their secret allies.

Spare any baby compotes comrade?

We should bring back fights to the death with melee weapons in a giant arena.

I'd rather an American soldier on my doorstep than Russian, Taliban, North Korean, Chinese, Congolese, South African, Venezuelan soldier.

Resented and slandered by the Roman aristocracy to the point of trying to assassinate him.
But loved by the masses. Drained the swamp.
Focused on peace and trade, made peace with the Parthian empire.
He was so popular that after his death, multiple people tried to claim that they were Nero reborn.

Sounds about right.

People still worship Pharmakia sorcerors, Mercury, Marz and Satan.
They still use the incorrect calendar adopted in those times.
Mainstream engineering still hasn't figured out pre-Roman buildings techniques like "Roman" concrete.
Images of ancient demons (you may call them gods) are everywhere. Just as average people are ignorant of those images - it is logical to assume that Romans civilians back then also were completely oblivious to these demons back then. Nay - it is more likely they were even more ignorant since average person back then didn't knew how to even read or write.

nope, roman alway send their legion when they have military problem with another nation

if you threat their allies they going to send their own legion to support their allies or to be in open war against you

they only waste their goal when they try to buy peace with their foes like german tribe when they invaded rome

romans dont really have problem with gay stuff, but they are conservative, so if you push your luck too far you may be arrested

based on roman experience we have maybe 100 -200 years life left in our style of civilization

rome started lettig in mass tibes ofbarbarians into dacia area without romanizing them towards its collapse - we are letting mass populations enter without americanizing them too

rome debased its money in 200s to 300s i believe - we debased our silver and copper coins into nickel metal quarters and zinc pennies 1964 to 1983

roman senate became nonfunctional and full of inability to act in 100-60bc timeframe and eventually the people decided a strong emperor who could get things done was better option.

sorry but romans also show stupidity like send more troops to hannibal, send troops in persia and being annhilited, send more troop in germany and lost them

rome didnt need that as they were not afraid of homosexuality
Rome wasn't built in one day, much like a lot of current day empires that haven't fallen yet.

Everything. Rome never died, it only transformed into Nation States & Governments. The last 1700 years of modern history have only been the extension of Roman rule.

Why do you think we are only allowed to name suns and planets and moons after Roman and Greek characters?

Give thanks to J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientific director of the Los Alamos Laboratory; Enrico Fermi, who contributed to the understanding of nuclear chain reactions; Leo Szilard, who co-authored the Einstein-Szilard letter that initiated U.S. efforts to develop an atomic bomb; Lise Meitner, who explained nuclear fission alongside Otto Hahn; Otto Hahn, whose experiments led to the discovery of nuclear fission; Edward Teller, known for his work on nuclear weapons and hydrogen bombs; Fritz Strassmann, who worked with Hahn on fission experiments; Glenn Seaborg, who helped isolate plutonium-239; Richard Feynman, who contributed to theoretical physics and bomb design; and Robert Serber, who assisted Oppenheimer in understanding nuclear reactions, Neils Bohr, and last but not least Klaus Fuchs, Julius Rosenberg, Ethel Rosenberg, David Greenglass, and Harry Gold who likely prevented the metastasis of the Prussian Third Reich and it's American counter-part from total world domination and the destruction of the eastern hemisphere.

After all, let's not forget how friendly & famous Hitler was with Evangelical Baptist Conservatives and the English Crown (King Edward 8th), and the warnings we heard at Carnigie hall in 1913 via The American Rights Committee, a group of distinguished New Yorkers, led by "George Haven Putnam, the well-known publisher." In a "great mass meeting" at Carnegie Hall on March 13, 1916, the Committee condemned the "Prussian Imperial Militarism" that "has brought about the subjugation of the people of Germany to an ambitious and unscrupulous autocracy and the corruption of the ancient German ideals through a dream of World-dominion," including "the crushing of friendly nations and the subjection of their peoples to a brutal and cruel military rule" and "practices of unprecedented barbarity."

We all saw how those warnings came to fruition resulting in 2+ million American/British lives lost during WW1-WW2, 10+ million African lives being lost during WW1-WW2, the 30+ million Indian lives lost during WW1-WW2, and the 6+ million Jewish lives lost during WW1-WW2.
