Are membrane keyboards really that bad for gaming?
Ofc mechanical keyboards are better, but are membrane keyboards (the good ones ofc) absolute trash when it comes to gaming?

They're all I will use. I find mechanical to be a pain on my fingers as they slide. The click is annoying to me as well.

I can't go back to a membrane keyboard after using a mechanical one.

Nobody cares about keyboards, they're almost never what caused you to lose games, it's the mouse that's more important than anything. Unless you're overkill on all your tech, they're not THAT bad

I've used both, I've noticed nothing different other than my roommates wanting to kill me for using a mechanical one while they are trying to sleep.

Oh, yeah I can see that. Cant say Im a fan of loud clicks. Just to put it out there I think the Razer orange and yellow keys are extremely silent.

I don't see any difference except for the sound.

Not really, but some are better than others. The Corsair rubber dome keyboards are pretty nice and emulate a mechanical feel. Mechanical keyboards are kinda gimmicky, expensive and can't handle any spillages. They are just nice cause of clicky clacky.

membrane: stealth, lighter
mechanical: water resistant, more sturdy, more durable, better response time and more keys can be pressed at once for a game

um I'll disagree. I dont think many mechanical keyboards are actually "Water resistant" Spill resistant yes but not water proof or smth. Also, some membrane keyboards come with spill resistance too. Im pretty sure there are a few membrane keyboards that supports anti ghosting

Mechanical keyboards are NOT better than membrane keyboards. They are just different.
Because Mechanical keyboards are pricey, so people thinks that it's better.

No. I've played with membranes for over twenty years (nearly reaching 30) just fine.

Neither is "Better", just the best for what "YOU" personally want.

Personally I like low profile short press laptop style mechanical/scissor switch or even membrane keyboards because they are quieter and faster to type with than the old 1980s style long press "clacky" keyboards that are stupidly popular right now.

Not even kind of close. Mechanical keyboards are objectively better - they provide more tactile feedback. You can really feel the switches actuating (and hear them). Membrane keyboards feel a lot more 'mushy' by comparison.
