Its where your body wakes up and freezes and you can have hallucinations for a min or so

Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep. During these transitions, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes. Some people may also feel pressure or a sense of choking.

The main treatment is improved sleep habits (sleep hygiene) including going to bed at the same time every night, ensuring a comfortable sleep environment free of distractions, and avoiding caffeine before sleeping.

It's black. See a figure. Everything is vibrating. I hear a noise like a scream and grinding gears.

And it sucks.

A friend of mine has (had?) it. We never knew until she told us when we were adults. She never stayed for sleepovers and always brought her own tent when on a festival or hiking. Wasn't a big deal for us but she always felt a little embarassed. Turned out that she just has short phases when waking up, including making a few sounds. I don't have any contact to her since she married, but we used to laugh about it when we met. She always told us "If only I wasn't such a ♥♥♥♥♥ back then!"

I have a soft form of epilepsy in my sleep, but noone ever noticed. At least not the epilepsy, just the dislocated joints. I always blamed it on moving while sleeping. Getting the diagnose was quite the hit, but those diseases are all treatable. It's never too late.

Moral of the story: You should definitely tell your friends/family/whoever is interested and openminded. Don't build a capsule around you because you think you are different ina negative way. Especially when you are young, you might think that every illness is abnormal and embarassing, but if you get older, you'll notice that it's normal for a large amount of people.
