I finally saw "Absolute free speech" on rednote
What I saw on rednote today just from videos recommended by it:

- people calling for assassination of CEOs and posting their addresses on the comments

- some White American girl promoting polyamorous relationships

- UK anti immigration video

- lots of anti Israel videos

- pro MAGA videos and non video posts

- anti MAGA videos and non video posts

- anti rich and anti capitalist content posted mostly by Americans

- content hating on Black Americans

All the contents I listed were in English

The crackdown on political speech in mainstream US social media and streaming platforms has created a mass exodus of Westerners moving to Rednote where they can say almost anything they want and leave comments that looks like it's from the mid 2000s

Tho I don't really want to see those kinds of content when I go to Rednote, I will probably just block all the English language videos there next month

rednote is filled with CCP propaganda and censoring, so definitely no "absolute free speech" going on there.

Nothing that is critical is the Chinese government though, right?

not for long, anyway. taken down or censored very quickly.

So you discovered Chinese 4chan? :V
Mixing up "propaganda" with "free speech" is dangerous and dumb.

What they consider "free speech" is basically the freedom to use offensive slurs against minorities.

I wouldn't consider postings in the internet speech more like "Dummenfang".

Free speech template.

I lack [Money][Sex][Rich parents] and i blame [_______] for it.

I really don't see the problem with that. People don't throw around slurs for no reason.

The internet in the 2000s, despite hardly having any censorship, was much more chill and less horrific than the censored internet of today, though.

We're just witnessing the explosion that comes with censorship, and the reactionary relief of being free of it.

Rednote is just the beggining.

We should take back the Web, descentralize, create personal Web pages...

Flocking into some single platform owned mostly by some single dude was a *bad* move.

I blame you, OP.

Yeah. The 2000s, especially mid-2000s was an incredibly easy time to communicate online. Online communities were far more friendly, and open. Now all communities have walled themselves off because of how bad things have gotten. You can find lots of places, but they're all incredibly toxic and riddled with hall monitor types who police every word and thought.
The irony is that when we didn't have these people, we had far less actual hate out there compared to now.

Bots and alienation algorithms have played an important role, specially in forming the behaviour of late-comers who couldn't see through that.

Leftists kept being influenced and parroted back that right wings are basically KKK and Nazis (and those people should deffinitely *not* have a right to Hate Speech), and the right wingers kept recieving and repeating fake news that some left-leaning politician was in the same devil worshiping cult as Xi JinPing, with previous members such as Stalin and Vlad the Impaler.

The content-suggestion algorithm should be open-sourced. At least one thing X got right...

If we were to time travel to the late 90s and late 2000s to tell the people that Westerners would be mass defecting to the Chinese internet to avoid censorship and oppression, people from that time wouldn't have believed it

It was just another normal Chinese TikTok with family friendly content until Americans, Brits, and Europeans started mass immigrating to it since 6 months ago
