With many TV shows and a boring remake, it feels like DreamWorks isn't trying anymore with the franchise.
I guess I could say DOOM? I haven't played the new one yet but I remember 2016 and eternal just being "alright"
They weren't bad per say but there's a notable difference in quality between them and the classics
Aardman is currently working on a new Pokémon series, but I'm not looking forward to it.
As for the games, I've only played Pokémon Go and it was fun at first, but I moved on.
The games are fun but you can tell they didn't really know what to do after gen 5, every game added a new gimmick that was dropped for the next game.
Kind of like how the Final Fantasy games work except not nearly as well put together
I thought Ishin Remake was godawful, Gaiden had a decent setup for Infinite Wealth except Infinite Wealth had the worst story that not only sucked but almost completely threw away everything Gaiden was going for, and Pirate Majima is a slop game that I dropped because it was extremely boring and pointless.
Devil May Cry doesn't look so hot either, DMC 5 already betrayed my trust with Special Edition content being console exclusive, then they made a horrible gacha phone game that was originally an actual DMC mobile game in the beta, and new anime that's closer to DmC than it is to DMC.
Products that do well tend to be bland and cheap looking. Otherwise they would not use them in advertising. I'll give one example: Bathfitters. Perhaps they have some creative designs, but what they show is a plain white covering that looks like it was applied with a spray paint gun.
In short, anything that looks like it was slapped together will survive. Elon Musk has picked up on it with his Tesla truck. People like cheap. As for games, people like stories not games. Give them nice looking characters and string together cutscenes and gameplay will not even occur to them.
The developers might've planned to release a videogame their way, but then suddenly an ouchie happens! And the economical situation in world forces them to change the direction, usually by cutting the higher quality stuff and implementing them later on as an optional DLC that has to be bought seperately.
So, the expenses get higher, while the overall content gets reduced because the profit is lower.
.. And so begins the downfall.
By my opinion, every single development team have experienced a huge decrease and fell quite down in the past few years. There are no exceptions to this rule, unless the development is already funded by millionary developers, which then begs the question why even work when it's not necessary, right?
Other way to look at that is, the newer developers have no history and do start over from the scratch.. Meaning, there is no going up or down from where they are, as they have yet to write their own history.

-> Ah, and how is this related to the franchises.
Well, it's the developers who do release them, so that's naturally gonna be reflected in the upcoming releases of those franchises if they had some in the past, that is.
I do like Ralsei, but everything else is terrible and doesn't feel like a sequel to Undertale, I wouldn't be surprised if this was an unrelated game and someone threw in Undertale themes.
