Is there a franchise you think is going downhill?
It can be a movie, TV show or Videogame.
For me, it would have to be FNAF because since Steel Wool purchased the franchise, despite having no involvement with the games prior to this, it felt like it wasn't the same anymore. It was just another generic horror game series and looked cheap compared to Hello Neighbour and Poppy Playtime.
In other words, FNAF felt like it was having a full-blown identity crisis, forgetting about what it used to be and trying to cash in on other popular horror games at the time.
So, what franchises do you think is completely going downhill?

Also, I think the How to Train Your Dragon Franchise is going downhill, due to how wasted it has become since after the awful third movie.
With many TV shows and a boring remake, it feels like DreamWorks isn't trying anymore with the franchise.

I've heard of Maya the Bee, I didn't know its still going on.
I'd say Pokemon but that series has been on the decline for a decade since XY lmao

I guess I could say DOOM? I haven't played the new one yet but I remember 2016 and eternal just being "alright"
They weren't bad per say but there's a notable difference in quality between them and the classics

The new Pokémon series was not even advertised in the UK (Due to it being broadcasted by the BBC) and didn't have Ash in.
Aardman is currently working on a new Pokémon series, but I'm not looking forward to it.
As for the games, I've only played Pokémon Go and it was fun at first, but I moved on.

I don't know much about the anime tbh. I remember really liking XY's anime but that was about it

The games are fun but you can tell they didn't really know what to do after gen 5, every game added a new gimmick that was dropped for the next game.
Kind of like how the Final Fantasy games work except not nearly as well put together
Yakuza hasn't impressed me in a while.

I thought Ishin Remake was godawful, Gaiden had a decent setup for Infinite Wealth except Infinite Wealth had the worst story that not only sucked but almost completely threw away everything Gaiden was going for, and Pirate Majima is a slop game that I dropped because it was extremely boring and pointless.

Devil May Cry doesn't look so hot either, DMC 5 already betrayed my trust with Special Edition content being console exclusive, then they made a horrible gacha phone game that was originally an actual DMC mobile game in the beta, and new anime that's closer to DmC than it is to DMC.

Anything that doesn't prioritise online shopping. People don't care to look for quality themselves. Other people's opinions suffice. There is no desire to examine material, feel textures, test operation and stuff like that. Just buy it and if you don't like it, wrap it up and return it. From there it probably ends up in a landfill and adds to the cost of the item.
Products that do well tend to be bland and cheap looking. Otherwise they would not use them in advertising. I'll give one example: Bathfitters. Perhaps they have some creative designs, but what they show is a plain white covering that looks like it was applied with a spray paint gun.
In short, anything that looks like it was slapped together will survive. Elon Musk has picked up on it with his Tesla truck. People like cheap. As for games, people like stories not games. Give them nice looking characters and string together cutscenes and gameplay will not even occur to them.
Devil May Cry, Marvel, DC, any Ubisoft franchise, any EA franchise, any Blizzard franchise, any Bethesda franchise, most of the movie franchises, most of the AAA game franchises, western Europe, USA.

More or less all of them, and the cause is the economy reflecting the focus of the development.
The developers might've planned to release a videogame their way, but then suddenly an ouchie happens! And the economical situation in world forces them to change the direction, usually by cutting the higher quality stuff and implementing them later on as an optional DLC that has to be bought seperately.

So, the expenses get higher, while the overall content gets reduced because the profit is lower.
.. And so begins the downfall.

By my opinion, every single development team have experienced a huge decrease and fell quite down in the past few years. There are no exceptions to this rule, unless the development is already funded by millionary developers, which then begs the question why even work when it's not necessary, right?
Other way to look at that is, the newer developers have no history and do start over from the scratch.. Meaning, there is no going up or down from where they are, as they have yet to write their own history.

-> Ah, and how is this related to the franchises.
Well, it's the developers who do release them, so that's naturally gonna be reflected in the upcoming releases of those franchises if they had some in the past, that is.

I'm not suprised because Disney is smashing it to pieces.
I think the Deltarune saga is overrated due to how forgettable it is, in my opinion.
I do like Ralsei, but everything else is terrible and doesn't feel like a sequel to Undertale, I wouldn't be surprised if this was an unrelated game and someone threw in Undertale themes.
Souls Games gonna die soon. They're mainstream now and bound to become crap.
