I don't get this... How is it a scam when you are told exactly what you are purchasing?

The bitcoin scammers also tell you exactly what you are purchasing.

Just as the guy selling you that dirt-cheap appartment in Florida or your very own island...

Shouldn't always believe what you are told.

An actual scam relies on you not knowing it is happening, whereas with an Early Access game you are fully aware of what you are purchasing and do the 7 steps voluntarily.

Get instant access and start playing; get involved with this game as it DEVELOPS.

NOTE: This Early Access game is NOT COMPLETE AND MAY OR MAY NOT CHANGE FURTHER.

If you are NOT excited to play this game in its CURRENT STATE , then you should WAIT to see if the game PROGRESSES FURTHER in development.

The 7 steps:

1) Viewed the store page.

2) Added the game to your cart.

3) Viewed your cart.

4) Continued to payment.

5) Entered the security code if you are using a card.

6) Ticked the Steam Subscriber Agreement box (includes the refund policy).

7) Clicked confirm.

Early Access developers write what they are going to do for the next years with the game......and you assume you are actually knowing what is going to happen?

Thats the thing about a good scam, it doesnt rely on facts - but on faith.

Still it says: If you are NOT excited to play this game in its CURRENT STATE , then you should WAIT to see if the game PROGRESSES FURTHER in development.

Doesn't matter what the future plans are, you are buying the game as is at that specific moment in time.

For some incomprehensible reason, some people are convinced that they should get what they want, instead of what they ordered and paid for. It seems to have something to do with the "Customer is Always Right" myth; retail workers are evidently supposed to read your mind and give you what you want, rather than what you order.
Customers should alwyas get what was promised - at least.

And if that is actually the case, why is there a daily load of threads about games (including Early Access and Pre-Order AAA games) that did not deliver what was advertised?
deepfake scammers and catfishing scams, no way you're sending over your money to someone who is apparently Katy Perry lol uwu

This was a fishing boat advertised on Facebook marketplace. I did not send any money but instead I drove to the address listed.....it was a empty dirt field.
Any of those "help I reported your account" scams, or those "Hey want to try my game" discord scams

I would say NFTs too but that's more-so natural selection than anything else
