Why do we get ugly as we get old?
Why do you think that is..

Is it an evolutionary response? Young people, who tend to prettier and handsome, they get together and have children. So they can [pass their DNA to the next generation. Evolution favors the young who have more energy, are much better looking, etc.

We don’t get ugly with age. We get honest. Age is the receipt proving you kept it long enough to make it matter.
My mom has been 19 years old for 25 years already. Asians never seem to age.

It’s her signature on a body that did what it was designed to do:
because human dna doesn't produce perfect copies of itself each time so you end up with a progressively ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knockoff of the real thing whenever it does that.

So a 75 year old is going to be better looking than a 23 year old?

Come on my friend. Women tend to peak in their mid 30s. A man can peak about a decade later, in their 40s. There are studies on when men tend to hit the wall and its right around 50 or so. For most men. Maybe exercise can extend that a bit. But there comes a time for all of us when the game is over. As a 51 year old, I'm not going to the clubs in my area to try to talk to 25 year olds. That life is over for me.

Or just maybe since you've seen your mom for a very long time you don't see the little minor changes that she is going thru. Like all of us. Also, there is a peak for all of us anyway. Some people can peak later in life than others. DNA, life style, luck. But eventually the changes come and the bill is due. Also, looks are very subjective. A person could say that oh she looks her age or older, while another person might say that she looks 10 years younger.

I also lived in South Korea for 15 years. I also lived in Thailand for a year and had girlfriends from both cultures and I can say that Asians do get older. I've seen plenty of old Thais and Koreans. No one is exempt from change.

That’s only one metric of value. Nature front-loads beauty because it’s meant to fade. You’ve graduated to the game of substance. And ironically, the people still chasing youth often don’t even realize you’ve already leveled up and are no longer playing the game of appearances. Only a matter of the ability to turn survival into stories worth telling.

I agree. but its typically men who value youth and beauty. While women value a man who is able to provide since she will be having children.

Of course. My comment was more of an exaggeration joke if anything. But it’s also true that Asians (generally) age slower than other people.

If women value provision and men value youth, then both are just trading currency for currency. Looks for resources. But the moment either stops being a trade and becomes a story by cutting the string of evolution tied around our/your/their neck.

old age is just genetic decay

Mate selection is just weeding out genetic mutations

This world loves to damage genes, and pull the gene slot machine lever
