Ready or Not: R18+ game becomes cross play and removes gore years after release.
I almost bought READY OR NOT - which is basically SWAT 5.

Til I read they plan to censor gore and tone down the adult-ness of the game when it becomes cross-play in a month or whatever.

Lame. Nobody wants cross-play, or the removal of gore/etc.

This changing of games for the worse should not be allowed, and if it is allowed, an exceptional refund should be granted to those wanting it.

Imagine buying a game specifically for gore, and a year later they remove gore.

Or a game with booba, only to find the booba is removed one day.

That's like buying a big mac and the dude giving you a cheeseburger without cheese instead for the same price.

This situation is hogwashery, and is poppycock.

Very good.

Gore wasn't removed, it was just disabled for dead bodies. If you shoot a live target it still applies. And as a police officer you're not allowed to shoot dead bodies anyway.

So it was removed. Ok.

From dead bodies? Yes, why would you shoot dead bodies?

For the gore.

I'm not sure if you understand how the game is meant to be played, you're supposed to shoot the living enemies, not the dead ones.

How can you know the dead ones are dead unless you double check?

LOL ok fair point.
The game was sold on realism - gore being realistic.

And now it's just another shooter - or will be, basically.

That's the issue.

Adults want adult games - which this was.

It wasn't supposed to be cross-played with console kids as such.

A bit lame.

What if you blew something up and the now-censored bodies gain no more damage decals, just flying around the room with limbs still attached, no more blood or so on from that latest explosion.

Lame, yup.

A for effort. Why are you posting this here? VOID banned you from the RoN forum?
I think a simpler question would be: why are devs pushing for adult games to be marketable towards children?

We have parental controls for a reason.

Weird.

Attempt at trolling denied.

Interesting question indeed.
It sucks. Games are caving to the woke censorship agenda left and right. And why? If they don't want a gritty raw shooter then they can play Fortnite or CoD or Farcry or the countless other dumbed-down arcadey games on the market that give them that.

Let us have at least ONE modern realistic shooter, for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake. But no, that's apparently too much to ask. Gore is only allowed in fantasy games like Cyberpunk or Doom apparently.

I was going to pick the game up on Summer Sale until I found, and bought Ghost Recon 1, Rainbow Six 3, and SWAT 4 (on GOG) instead. Never will I support this kind of thing in gaming.
Think of the children, what if little Jimmy played his video game entertainment and saw such violence?

no but really, this is stupid.
