Do US citizens still have to pay property tax if their property is in another country (overseas)?
This individual own multiple properties in Japan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, UAE & Vietnam (so, nowhere near the USA at all) but are property taxes still imposed on them despite the fact that their property isn't on US soil at all. Can they really circumvent property tax when building their dream home or place of residence abroad or are they still subjected to taxation in absentia?

No since usa is the richest country we don't have too
Generally speaking, property tax isn't paid to the federal government. It's paid to the municipality in which the property is held. So as far as I know, no. I wouldn't be surprised if there are exceptions though.

The U.S.A. is one of only a few countries that charges income taxes on the basis of mere citizenship though[www.irs.gov]. Same thing goes for green card holders. Most other countries use mere residency as the determinate factor regarding whether or not you have to pay, which means if you're not living in those countries you don't pay income taxes.

It's as Tone said, property tax is a local tax. It's not something that you'll have to worry about, but you likely will want to speak to a tax accountant, because there are a number of things that you may have to report depending on your circumstances. Things like rental income always have to be reported for example, but there are some other things depending on dollar amount involved like financial accounts, foreign assets and such.
yeah your going to pay taxes on it.....now the fun part.....each country will be its own thing....some countries help outside investors others hit them hard with taxes.....residency will also play a factor as some countries will only put taxes on the income made in country and again others will put taxes on all of the resident's income including what is made in the US......

on the US side of the equation they are going to pay taxes on any income made on the property
Property tax is a scam. What do you mean that we have to pay rent to daddy government of all things?
