The thing is that Demon Slayer is Japanese (from character's names or design, setting, overall themes and plot development). So, how are you really going to translate that into Western culture when there's no equivalent of shrines, heavy themes relating to the yokai or oni, faith is based on Shintoism (anime focuses a lot on Kami) while USA dwells more on Christianity & Jesus Christ.

If a remake or adaptation were to be created, will it suck that bad? As in a lot of what made Demon Slayer successful will be changed and tailored to fit Christian themes (if they want the religous aspects left in-tact) characters will have their names changed from Japanese to become Anglicized, the yokai being rebranded as "ghosts" while the oni are instead called "demons".
