Superman is a Smash Hit
Despite the far right attacking James Gunn and his cast, the film is a smash box office hit.

Is James Gunn going to be recognised as the pioneer who restored the cape genre?

It's only been out for a few days. The film needs to generate $700 million just to break even.
The flim is decent, but it could still have been way better. There's a bit too much dumb humor thrown in, and it feels like James Gunn really wanted to make this film into a Justice League movie instead of a Superman movie. He excels at having a group coming together such as Guardians of the Galaxy or Suicide Squad, but he seems to struggle a little when he has to focus on one character.

It's still easily one of the best live action Superman movies ever made. Infinitely better than the drivel that was Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League. That version of Superman isn't actually Superman, as he makes virtually zero attempt to save people. At one point in Man of Steel he even takes the fight from an empty field to the middle of town, without a sliver of thought about the innocent people who will die as a result.

At least this Superman is true to the character of who Superman is, and David Corenswet is quite literally PERFECT for the role. (Nicholas Hoult might just be the best Lex Luthor ever as well. His performance in this movie was legendary)

There was some incredibly dumb stuff in the film though. Like so dumb it elicited a groan and had me rolling my eyes. For example, that baby would have 100% died or been seriously injured during all that chaos.

I'll still probably watch it in theaters again though. It was a fun time.

Nicholas Holt is an incredible Author, leagues above Eisenberg.

James Gunn is a real master of tonality and pacing, he has succeeded both Snyder and Whedon.

It better be, its the only movie I plan on seeing this year
Am I supposed to feel sorry for the debt and run out to pay for tickets and concessions? We know it's a price gouge.

lets just go see the movie bro
We have officially come full circle where a story about a super strong empowered white dude with baby blue eyes is now woke.

a super strong empowered white dude with baby blue eyes

Of course it is a success.

Let's be honest with ourselves for a moment, was there really any doubt whether this kind of story would be a massive success? Give the people what they desire, that's what I say!

I think the movie has some good moments, and the people in it (superman, luthor, and the black guy) have memorable actors

The anti-israel / pro-palestinian aspects were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool, too. Netanyahu got killed
Superman did not save the kids. The kids saved Superman bc this movie sucks.
