I got towels!

Yeah, very bloody movie. :P
2019's Cats.

Absolutely terrifying.
The exorcist is definitely terrifying, especially if possession is a real thing. But as a kid, I was deathly terrified by ET and Yoda. More than any horror movie could do. Because their appearance was so weird and scary to me. I still don't like ET but Yoda doesn't bother me anymore.

real or not, I guess being real or possible is not a requirement for a movie to be terrifying
The most terrifying movie ever made is "Wallace & Gromit - A Grand Day Out".
For a start, the claymation is horrifying in itself. Nothing looks real even in a cartoon sense, especially the face of Wallace, the whole thing looks like a bad acid trip.
He builds a rocket to go to the moon, to get cheese, and takes his dog who has a human level of consciousness but doesn't speak.
Why does he decorate the rocket to look like a living room? He puts armchairs and 1970's wallpaper in it, and then they are sitting in that living room reading the newspaper as the rocket takes off and breaches the stratosphere. WTF
They get to the moon and there is a psychopathic, sentient vending machine there that tries to kill them with a baseball bat. Why is it there? Who made it? None of those questions are ever addressed.
They tried to give it a happy ending in that Wallace and Gromit teach the vending machine how to ski on the moon's cheese, and it waves goodbye to them, then a really happy marching band tune plays over the credits. I just remember crying my eyes out because I thought the whole thing was horrible and didn't make any sense.

I also lost my ♥♥♥♥ at Short Circuit 2 when the gang of thugs smash up Johnny 5. He's being really nice to them and asking them why they are doing it and will they please stop, it really upset me. My mum came in and put Star Trek TNG - The Best of Both Worlds on to "take my mind off it".

The 2006 one. Is the 1977 one better?
