Yes they modern audienced it so badly it got memory holed immediately.
The moral of the story is suits green lit something that couldn't fly today. To make a movie you do need a story that can actually go the distance. Charlie Chaplin or the Three Stooges wouldn't fly either for that matter. There isn't enough meat on these bones to satisfy modern audiences. The inclusion of those CGI dwarfs couldn't save that movie. Snow White sucks as a story.
