And..?
I've never really got into the Pokémon trading card game like I did with the video games. :Gachaman: TCG has its own rules that I don't feel like following.

i played yugioh a lot growing up, probably my favourite tcg. i remember going to tournaments and such. never won or climbed too many ranks, but it was still always a ton of fun. during the pandemic i sold many things, including much of my ygo card collection as i no longer play and it was just being a space hog.

i had a mint condition 1st edition dark magician girl. i sold it for about 1500 lari, or 500 euro. i had to pack it so carefully, put in hard plastic sleeve, inside book, inside a box, covered in bubble wrap. because i was not wanting such a fragile item to be destroyed in transit.

because i got so much for it, i am actually somewhat being regretful that i did not have it "graded", as if it scored a perfect score it may have been worth much more than this. but oh well.

I had a similar experience selling my pokemon cards. I rarely played the game, but I still loved collecting the cards as a kid. I had to put them in plastic sleeves and cases for sale. I sold those during the pandemic as well. Youtubers opening mint packs caused a surge of interest in the cards. I still have my yugioh cards and am having a hard time selling them as I have nothing truly rare. If I had money and space I'd love to just collect Magic cards the rest of my life as I find them interesting art wise and enjoy the game. I just wish I had friends irl to play it with.

i love the art and flavour texts on classic mtg cards, i really dislike how modern mtg has so many unfitting art styles and crossovers though. i still have some of my ygo and mtg cards, i decided to keep some favourites just for memories.

yes i have seen videos of such internet people like penguinz0 opening card packs and such. the same inflations also happened to video games during the pandemic. prices of retro/classic games became so obscene because all were being stuck inside and video games were being more popular than ever because of it.

you are having any card shops or tabletop shops or such in your area? for me, this was always the places to go to meet up with others who enjoy such hobbies. some in my city are still hosting monthly card tournaments and such with prizes.

I hate the magic crossovers, but I don't hate modern as much as other people. Then again I started collecting during modern so that's probably why. The game stores around here are pretty expensive to buy from and don't really offer a lot when they buy cards. As for the people, they aren't too nice to be around. I don't know what is about some of these card shops that bring out the worst types of people imaginable.

I think the worse thing magic did was secret lairs. I hate limited edition things. whether it's limited edition cards, video games or whatever. Cross overs and secret lairs really grind my gears something fierce.

yes i have seen mtg cards of hatsune miku and vtuber characters and chucky of the childs play horror films lol. very, very unfitting for mtg. i just do not understand it, i guess they were wishing to try something new or perhaps bring in more players who were not interested before, but it is so strange to see such things when i think of how the game was 20 years ago.
Did you find the physical fake cards yet? They were even selling them online at walmart..lol. I am actually playing pokemon scarlet atm and trying to finish the pokedex. So annoying when you need to trade to evolve a monster and some idiot takes off with it.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
