not always true. i think you overestimate how many folk (like redditors based on your name) care about how others view them online. though such folk do exist (virtue signalers) a lot of peoples on the internet just throw their thoughts into the digital ether without thinking about it much. hoping maybe that if they say something positive that it helps another person struggling in life. we are all tired and sad.

But what can you change standing outside of a train station in an English seaside coastal town? The Middle East is thousands of miles away.
I can understand a large organised demonstration in central London where the politicians can visibly see the signs but what's the point of protesting in say Penzance? Who's going to see it? A few folks enjoying their holiday.
