Krafton and Subnautica 2
So, apparently...

Unknown Worlds are making Subnautica 2.
Subnautica 2 should be in early access release right now. There is no reason it shouldn't be.
Krafton, the publisher of Subnautica, have chosen to artificially delay releasing Subnautica 2 until next year because...

If Sub2 released on time and did well, Krafton were contractually obligated to pay Unknown Worlds 250 million bonus for their hard work. So Krafton just refuse to release and hey presto save themselves 250 million by not paying devs their hard earned.

I know the industry is full of scum companies, but why make promises you have no intention of keeping?

What’s even worse is that they fired all three original people running unknown worlds from the beginning and replacing them with one guy. Luckily the former devs are suing Krafton rn so hopefully this has a good ending.
subnautica 2 will probably be one of the biggest game releases ever (even in EA) i guess they are just wishing to get it right

Or it could fail hard the same way Kerbal 2 did

Traditionally, sequels don't do as well. But who knows.
