I cannot speak to the rest of what you've said, but GoG does not say this, because you still only buy licenses there, just as you do here.

And btw, you made a very engaging and insightful thread. The discussion was going well with no conflict and needlessly locked. I submitted the complaint to help support, but as usual, I doubt they'll do anything about it.

It's GOG for me, from here on out. Y'all have fun.

As a avid fan of Indie games as well as alot of AAA studios starting to use GOG. I'm starting to use GOG more. With the exception of multiplayer games, GOG offers way better sales and I don't even need to boot the client to play my games. More often than not, I check prices with GOG, if GOG has a better or the same price, I get it on GOG. Since on GOG: the game is always mine.
Yes this seems like an ad. It is not. I think I am just becoming more discontent with steam in general. I was never a huge fan of the forced social media features steam has, as well as Steam's (not-so) recent UI change that annoyingly broke my old skin I used for years and giving no option to go back or even a restoration or- recreation of the skins feature.
More-over that, the new library I absolutely hate! So much screenspace and for what? Is this for 4K screens? TV's? I miss how the old library seemed like it was actually BUILT for PC's in mind.

Not to say I really LIKE GOG Galaxy's UI any better but I at least have an option of using it.
