Just what evokes this simple dynamic by the definitions provided to them through Disney Star Wars and Disney marvel.

They really haven't taken even the slightest moment to consider the culture / reasoning or greater history of the situation at all.

Progressives are stick on oppressor oppressed ideology so they think the 2nd largest religion in the world is oppressed.
They don't care that those religious fundamentalist share no values... Actually they share some values America bad and Western civilization bad.
Progressives are not liberals is the main point I wanted to add here.
But then you get the argument that "definitions change" and it's far too late for moderate liberals to defend the copyright now.
You're describing neo-marxists of a rather nasty sort, who hate Christians and are only using Muslims against them.
People go wrong here typically by adopting an ignorant stance inferring 'all conservatives are the same', where in fact there is plenty of divergence, and by not bothering to actually learn anything about Islamic culture, good or bad.
In fact, I find most of these hate-filled, state-worshipping 'liberals' are prone to understanding very, very little of the world outside of their hobbies for escapism. They seem to want to escape their very selves.
