im not expecting much, hopefully it'll be fun/interesting.
Certainly not with Edgar Wright at the helm. Seems to be going for a black comedy vibe and this is something Edgar Wright has an extremely good track record.
In fact, I heard about this remake here for the first time and thought: Oh, no. Then I heard, that Wright was the director and I said: Now I need to watch it. After a google search I found out, that Wright co-wrote the movie and now it is the most anticipated movie of the year for me.
i love the book...its not one of kings best, but it is an exciting short read.
Never heard of it.

but not the good fun campy of the 1987 movie.
the book was just dour and angry. king was having himself a rant about society.
all the old machismo 70s-80s action stars are too old now. arnie, stallone, willis, van damme, eastwood. even some of the "younger" ones like statham, jet li and jackie are starting to getting up there in age.
we need a new era of machismo tough guys to do these kinds of films. i would have thought dave bautista might be one, but apparently he hates playing meat head characters and wants to be seen as a serious actor.
maybe thors actor could be good at that too, he seems to love playing goofy macho guys
