To be honest, a lot depends on the region/city as well as the profession. Chances of getting jumped in the night are rather low.

It gets worse and worse as more immigrants move here.

As far as I am aware, Polish migration politics are rather strict?

Poland is closing its border with Lithuania and Germany over all the immigrants fleeing those countries from a collapsing economy.
Good luck Op!

I move to Silesia region

Since PiS (Law and Justice) came to power in 2015 they opened borders for legal immigration from Africa, Asia and even South America while claiming they're protecting borders, so now cities are full of third world immigrants and in 2022 they relocated millions of Ukrainians, the collapse of Poland accelerates.

Now they plan on opening new front against Russia/Belarus around Kaliningrad, so more* Poles will be sent to death to make space for more immigrants.

Crime goes up, costs of living go up, recently there was young girl murdered by Venezuelan(!) immigrant, people are upset, but tomorrow they won't care anymore as always.

*The PiS government murdered around 200 000 Poles during so called pandemic, by not giving them medical help they needed.

Well developed region. Good public transport, rails&roads; lot of various industries&companies too. May be expensive in term of renting/buying flat, but a lot depends on the city and in the city on the neighbourhood.

Consequences of Belarussian hybrid war + Germany sending illegal immigrants back to Poland without enough proof that they really came to Germany via Poland.

Sorry to hear, because I am from Germany and the problems you've mentioned are exactly the reason why I want to " escape " to Poland.

So far, statistically it seems to be in a better stage than Germany and there also seems to be more freedom than in Germany.

I will still move there. Do you know if the Silesia region is somewhat peaceful and alright atm and how are German migrants perceived ?

PS: My grandfather is from Poland, but this was a long time ago.

Silesia is peaceful, no one will care about your country as long as you won't create any problems. You might have some luck in learning Silesian dialect.

Keep in mind that overall poland is more digitalized than germany and a lot of stuff can be done via internet.

It's one of the wealthiest regions with lots of investment from foreign companies, so it's easy to find a job.

is it safe? Probably less safe as every big city agglomeration. Last year there was a story about African immigrant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in pond in Katowice.

Yeah, first I need to master to speak Polish fluently, as I want to be fluent before I move to Poland plus I have big plans in joining their defense efforts and becoming a useful member of the nation.

Yeah it is more digitalised. Which is what I love, especially working in cybersecurity.

If you've job in cybersecurity then you won't have any problems in finding flat/house, especially in Silesian region.
Keep in mind that Katowice are now upgrading railroads (should end in Autumn 2026) and entire city is a construction site.
Metropolis is mostly safe so, no you won't have any problems, unless you create them for yourself.
