3+7+((5))+2 = 17 + 5 = 22
8+6+((3))+1 = 18 + 3 = 21
__9+((3)) = 12 + 3 = 15

Seems the pattern is taking the left digit of the 2nd decimal and adding it again to the first total

I had tripped up on presumably the 3rd step. I had taken a break and thought that there might have been too many steps.

Apparently, I had made an unnecessary assumption.
