What makes a game fun Bcuz thy al suck

I am playing some video games and I keep refunding them because they all suck: eldenRing, darkSouls3, Ark survivelAscended, and alot of other games I just refunded, I think I like roguelikes maybe??

Anyways what makes a game fun? Dota2 and CSGO are both at the top of steam but those games sucks too so eveeryone is just obviously addicted to their gambling features

But Like what Legitamately makes games fun?

I guess if you play and like them (you seem to be batting zero so far)...Fun is kind of subjective...

I spent probably 85+ hours building a custom Minecraft modpack.

I made my own datapacks, textures packs, edited other mods with new recipes/ textures.
I used a mod to disable items from other mods I didnt need.
I renamed stuff. Changed balance.
I used Amulet editor to stitch together 5-6 old saves into a mega base.

It was the most fun I ever had.

yeah I Totally understand that making stuff is more enjoyable than most games, you feel accomplished too, but I wouldn't consider creating mods a game

I mean I do the same thing, I mod games alot, but I want to have fun other than just code and making graphics all the time, I want to just have fun in a game for once
