Why are we worried about birthrates when 75% of us are unneeded?
AI elimnating jobs.
Wealth inequality.
Lowered crop yields.
Climate chabge.
Migration crisis.

The 21st century clearly will be an challenge for humanity. Any one of those items listed prior is a civilization stressing event, and humanity is going for the RL1 speedrun.

Why then are people stressing about birth rate? Humanity has made it clear that most people wont be missed so why not let population contract a bit while we get through these challenging times?

Is it that the "right" people arent having babies while too many of thr "wrong" people are?

Consumerism. Modern corporate culture is all about infinite growth, positive numbers every quarter for giving people garbage or straight up scamming money out of them.
The more people there are, the more crap you sell, the bigger the numbers are on the charts, making corpo overlords stiff in their pants.

That is what the modern peasant exists for. Not to harvest crops, but to BE the crop that is being harvested.

" Most people wont be missed ", where did you get this nonsense from?

Most people have family, friends, colleagues, neighbours that do care about them and that will or would be missed. To just blatantly claim that most won't be missed, is just plain false.

Probably just propaganda, I don't think the elites care about declining birthrates, less headache for them since they got AI and automation now.
Too bad the masses will be sick, broke, hungry and dangerous.

You cant sell people like that anything.

Wont be missed by people that matter.

Peter Thiel doesn't care about you beyond disgust.

And why do you feel that this is relevant? Why should someone that does not know me, miss me in the first place ?
Lesser population=Less tax dollars, less working professionals, smaller military

The fact is they require everybody else to put work and trust in the system. They'll always want slaves because we're resources and even with AI they can still farm us.

That's the topic? The Bezos and Thiels are keeping birthrates in the media as a key topic. Yet they dont care for, lets be honest 95% of humanity, and probably view 90% of humanity with disgust.

Trying to sus out that disconnect

You have no evidence about how they actually feel about most humans.

Simple extrapolation leads one to conclusions.

Because once some grow old, they won't be having anyone to take care of their needs.

And racism. "Great replacement" fears and all that bull.
Current business depends on it. ALSO The few that we have will NOT be the best and the brightest nor healthiest. If we breed a lot we can be selective choosing the most intelligent and healthiest. Finding the healthiest is FAR MORE selective when we have A LOT of offspring to T&E choose from. Cruel and heartless? Yes, but efficient.

They will need armies therefore they will give the dummies guns and grenades sending them out to exterminate each other while fighting for territory and resources. They will need the personnel UNTIL robots CAN RELIABLY replace them.
Imagine if we lived in Spartan Society. We get quality checked the moment we are born.
