Video game sales plummet, especially among young buyers
Down 25% in the 18-24 range.

Why aren't young people buying games like they used to?

Because they're addicted to this or that game. That's the only thing they play.
Companies are getting greedy with DLCs and introducing pay to play mechanics typical of mobile games. I can't find a single game I enjoy for my tablet. They are so boring. Click, click, buy, click, buy....

Lack of work ethic means no money to buy games

Go on the anti work sub reddit (be warned, will give you cancer)

1. Cost of living
2. Most people who play video games stick to a few games.
3. Free games on phone have eaten into profits of Sony, Microsoft.

With that said. GTA 6 is going to sell incredibly well. Its going to break records. But that is ONE game and NOT the full industry. RockStar are outliers.
Cause, like with all other mediums (music, movies, books), stuff coming out today is 99% soulless garbage. Even the younger generations are starting to notice. Most of all the movies, music, games, books, etc I mess around with are all from better days. Before all this mindrot dragged everything down.
Older people were too busy playing video games to make young people, so now there are fewer young people to buy video games.

Are you kidding? Gaming turned into a massive pile of crap. Theres like two or three companies left making real games and even those got too soft.
there aren’t much new things in current time. I took a look at the store and there aren’t anything new to buy.
plus people prefer real experience over any time
