The stop killing games movement.
Is really cute and all...and heck the concept makes sense, no more rinse and repeat bs from AAA studios.

The real issue is cheating in FPS games.

Ive been playing shooting games since wolfenstien 3d and got to play in the glory years of online gaming and by 2017 thanks to BSGs piss poor handling of their cheating problem plus throw in CS cheating issue its literally just boiled over into every game now.


Now from a legal stand point i spend X amount of dollars ona good gaming pc while ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hacker spends much less on a pentium 4 for me to die to that guy.

So whats the point in me spending all this money on a good rig just to deal with that.
And even in RTS MP like warno im dealing with this bs, ie oppentents constantly moving their unit im targeting with my arty CONSTANTLY before the 1st shots being fired.

So not only are FPS games cooked even the RTS genre is copping it.

So like if ANY OTHER INDUSTRY had its consumers being financially subverted there would be ♥♥♥♥ fights and law suits.

BUT HERE WE ARE...

and ya know why, cause muppets like nikita from BSG admit that hackers are a nessacary evil (paraphrasing) cause those ban waves bring in more cash from new accounts.

So where does the buck drop, dev studios are doing nothing cause they like the money flow, broader community done give a damn anymore cause half of yall are probaly on the hacks.

We either start a movement that makes goverments accountable for shutting down these software companys that makes the cheats or let gaming die.... its really like that im afraid.

I heard about that there's also concerns of people being able to exploit the game and infect people with malware or viruses through these breaches, especially if the devs or someone hands over like the source code of their online function and that's a big "if" they do want to. I remember way back there was an online game that had fan made servers and they couldn't do much about cheaters other than detecting them through their systems and dispensing bans accordingly. I think there honestly shouldn't be too much trouble because if there was some sort of online connection without proper servers, like what they have going on the DS and other nintendo games, so if games simply had that minimal function of being able to host with friends then there wouldn't be much of a mess right now. If you play offline games that have fanmade servers up and running for them you already got the basic taste of what the experience will be like, or maybe the game might become "free" and players will pour in out of nowhere so I get their concerns now lol :GoodA:

yeh for sure i hear you bro i hear you, and look i think ultimately either goverments are developer studios need to start holding these people accountable by law.
there needs to be an open source networking framework for games that is secure and used by everyone
There should have been a "stop making crappy games" petition first. The gaming industry in its current form isn't worth preserving.

Best defence against a cheater is find a good server with good admin, they can ban them instantly.

Unfortunately, cheating has been around for as long as I've been playing and I'm presuming that these companies are making a lot of money from it, if people are willing to pay to gain some kind of advantage over other players, it will continue.

Find a good server that's run well by a good admin that bans these players, keep enjoying your games :steamthumbsup:

Considering that so many people use hacks now...yeh...its not worth saving, id love to see all these subhuman idiots have to touch grass for a few weeks without a pc haha.
ULTIMATELY...until we are HOLDING CHEAT MAKERS ACCOUNTABLE this is all pointless.

I know where chods cheats is located in leeds UK, if the guys office was in australia lets just say he wouldnt have workin hands let alone an office to work out of anymore..just saying.
Multiplayer games suck because of cheaters. The problem is people choose to play them and complain rather than just play something else.

If it matters to you - do something about it like Ross did with Stop Killing Games.

For starters, how about a worldwide database of cheaters ip addresses rather than every game running their own?

Caught twice, permanent ban from every game/internet service signed up to it.
