Company: *makes a site where people can stream, post videos, is free, and has no ads*
Google: We will give you 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 dollars for your site.

That reminds me of squid game.
If you're willing to throw your wallet at quality I'm sure there are alternatives but due to the accessibility factor of free and by Google, that's gonna be a hard competitive drive.
I feel the same way about console hardware gaps though.
You don't see huge performance differences like you used to with consoles.
And over the years that difference has gotten lower and lower with every new generation.
But also nobody want's to make 128-bit processing either for what is perfectly logical reasonnings when you consider their listed reasonings for not developing that. So I mean, at the wall is at the wall, you know?
Personally I'm less bothered by resolution issues.
I grew up with an NES and a CRT with pixel Mario and Duck Hunt.
My standards are just not that high.
