Probably depends more on what state you live in.

Democrat, government services at the cost of government having control of you.
Republican, individual freedoms at the cost of no one support from the government if the SHTF.

Reality, both are controlled by special interest groups, and neither has your interest in mind.

Parties are not "sides".

In the US, the Republican party represents the extreme right, advocating racism, the rule of the rich, environmental destruction, and generally just everything the benefits the rich.

The Democrats are more like moderate right who are still trying to keep a democratic state for the people.

Give me a reason why I should be a democrat or republican.

If you have money or are rich you should vote republican as they favour the rich.

If you're on the other end of the scale then vote democrat.

I'm in the middle here in NZ because i like my money but i always was against the right, How do i navigate that!

It doesn't matter who you vote for, they're both the same party at the end of the day.

Its perhaps best to vote issue by issue. Then you'll come to realize that neither party really 'fits' with your worldview. People will still make assumptions.

Whatever you choose you're just a pawn.

You need more parties and you need to get to work on that before it's too late.
