Windows sucks
Windows has been borderline unusable for the past 10 years, and generally inferior to GNU/Linux based OSes for most general computing tasks for over 15 years. I don't get why people cling so hard to Windows and spread untrue FUD about GNU/Linux.

If you're not a business that needs to run niche software that only runs on Windows, I see no reason to use it over GNU/Linux. Even in that case, you only run it because you are effectively being forced to.

From a GUI perspective, Windows is worse than something like GNOME. PowerShell is kinda nice, but you can use that on GNU/Linux. Package management and updating on Windows is an absolute nightmare compared to most GNU/Linux based systems.

Grug like windows
At this point I only use windows for some gaming, a lot of my stuff I need a PC for I do on linux now.
You need to lick the windows more.
look, i think by now the answers to this tired old debate have become clear:

Linux sucks unless you are an IT person.

Windoes sucks but now does not suck as much as it used to, has by FAR the most sofware and Apple is a walled garden of overpriced disposable cute toys, tended to by Satan.

There's so much arrogance and superiority complex among Linux users that a lot of people may feel even more tempted to run Windows instead.

It's an OS - it's not a lifestyle or political activism.

If someone wants to make an OS their identity then all power to them I guess but that's the least of what vast majority of people are interested in.

I use creative software and my paycheck isn't compatible with Linux.

And people who say that others are being "forced" to run Windows or that they could run Linux instead haven't really talked with the users themselves, don't understand their needs and expectations. If someone tells you what to choose before sitting down with you and having a balanced conversation, walk away.

It's especially annoying how people say setting a distro up is too much work, and they want something that "just works." As if Windows isn't even worse in that regard.

If you're not using a customized .iso and rufus to install, and not doing a crapton of registry and powershell hacks and setting group policies to get it into a usable state after install, you're doing it wrong.

If anyone at Microsoft had half a brain, they'd release the barebones LTSC licence for general use, instead of driving people towards Linux and stuff like Ghost Spectre.

Installing Mint Cinnamon was 1,000 times easier to install than a new PC's first time setting up Windows.
Why do Linux users give so many ♥♥♥♥♥ what other users use?

Because they are all about "software freedom" and "choice" unless you choose what they don't like. Then you get under their skin, sort of speak.

Good luck because Linux will become a similar corporate playground if it gets more popular. If you think it stays in the state it is right now with its few-percentage popularity when it (hypothetically) reaches 20-60% of the market, you are fooling yourself.

Microsoft makes more money from Linux than Windows, just today. Not 20 years in the future.

Yes, precisely. The Linux guy in the final panel doesn't actually care about the other user. He relishes the irony more than he worries for society's future.
