Beliefs on law enforcement.
Law enforcement are no different from any other group who heavily relies upon brute force, logistics, and gaslighting to achieve their goals.

Change my mind!

And no, the usual "defund the police" spiel doesn't count as changing my mind because it's used so often that it's lost it's value.

I would kindly ask people to be more creative than that, thank you.

Live a week somewhere with little to no police presence. We'll wait right here.

And I'm saying that as someone who hates cops.
what goal is that?

Law enforcement enforce laws. These laws are signed by representatives elected by people. So law enforcement, enforces laws agreed upon and demanded by the citizens. The only people with a problem with law enforcement seem to be people with a problem with following those laws. Let me guess, you got arrested for doing something illegal, and it's all the cop's fault you got caught doing it?

Just because I'm dumping on them does not mean that I think they are unnecessary. But too many of them often abuse their power to get what they want.

Not how it works. See recent examples of the people voting in constitutional amendments and the state government trying to override that.

They have abrasive personalities and the good ones that aren't 'with the blue' are pushed out in just a year or two. They're not friendly people.

But they are useful tools. And like most tools, they need to stay in their place when not in use. If they could learn that, we'd all be better off.
State thugs, legally armed gang with a licence to kill, protecting the rich as they exploit the poor. At the same time, the sheeple need them there because they trade freedom for "security" so the cops are "just doing their job" like anyone else.
nuh uh
this is a thread full of people that never had to deal with cops on a regular or long term basis :V

No, honestly; I'm a clean monke, amazingly, but I see what they do far too often.

Through my observation, and my experience, this is what I have seen: The government declares order, the schools indoctrinate order, the military defends order, and the law enforces order. Seems very Orwellian to me.

They tell me that there is balance in order, but is there really? Or is that gaslighting? The deliberate intent to mislead. What if they trick the people into agreeing to laws that secretly steal what few freedoms they have under the ironic illusion of freedom?

It wouldn't be the first time that a singular government has tried this, but America was pretty successful.
Police and other state sponsored organisations are thugs, the state is just a very large mafia. Granted, the majority seems to support states and nations, otherwise we wouldn't have them.

Referendums are rarely, if ever, legally binding or an actual part of the legislative process. Electing representatives to pass what you want, is. So if there's something the majority of people want, start electing the people who are going to deliver it.

You see what? Some videos on the internet? Something on TV? There are millions, and millions of interactions with law enforcement in the US alone every year. And you see how many out of that?

I just found an actual statistic. In 2022, 49.2 million Americans had interactions with law enforcement. That's nearly 50 million a year.

The only difference I've seen is that gangs and Mafia are just more transparent then the police. This irony ♥♥♥♥ is pretty ridiculous, huh?
