How can I effectively protect myself against harrassment on my profile page, without having to lock down my entire profile into private?

I have been fallen to extremely homophobic and racist harrassment since numerous days now by a group of users, who follow me around forums, in-game and even on my forum and I am not sure how I can stop this once and for all?

Will a report with the support solve this? Because I did report a while ago, but so far it continues unfortunately.

Any advice?

As far as I know moderation and reports don't matter for home page comments. Anyway it might be unpleasant to hear but the best way to protect yourself from the harassment is to just ignore it. What they type only has as much meaning as you give it, if you give it none, it has none, and if you don't respond (deleting the posts is a response) they will eventually get bored and move on as they'll see their time as being wasted.

That is the most reliable approach, even if it is one of the harder ones as it requires self control.

You can just disable comments in settings.

I mean, check your privacy settings, there are quite a few, e. g. not being allowed to post on your wall, and lots more individual ones

You can still have a public profile but have friends only that can comment.

Unfortunately, with how slow moderation acts, locking down your profile might be your only option if it troubles you this much.

Had to lock my comment section for that reason.

No, you literally said you didn't want to completely lock it down to a private profile. Disabling comments and private profile are totally different things.
