The day where all of the Win 2000 games that valve sold you no longer run on the Win 2000 gaming computer you built with your college savings and you have to build a new computer with money you don't have, but it costs like five grand so you're like "What? Just let me play my games!".
And valves stance is "Screw you, just get Win7".
But you're like "I hate Windows 7, it sucks! And I shouldn't have to build a new computer just to keep playing my games!"
And then valves all "Too bad."
Then you're like "But these were all sold to me as Win 2000 games!"
And valves like "They're Win7 games now."
And then you're like "... Really?"
And then you go to the forums seeking empathy and everybody on the forums is all "Screw you, you're obsolete and old go crawl in a hole and die!"
And you're like "wtf?"
And then I'm all "Hahahahahahaha. Now you know how I feel! Empathy has been forced upon you!"
Good times.
Valve supported Windows 7 long after it got replaced by Windows 10. So by the time Valve stops supporting Windows 10, Windows 12 will be a thing.
Extended security updates for free.
also win10 support was extended to 2028 pretty recently
don't agree to the ai, co-pilot, spying, cloud copy of your data, etc
Given the number of people that bought switch 2, my hope in humanity is almost zero though
The day where windows is a monthly subscription, the day you give up the right to all your data via a eula, the day of on system ai censorship, and the day of bricking windows pcs is probably coming sooner or later.
Application support will likely stick around for very long term as I don't expect Google to drop off support early in order to not anger the corporate users
Also 5000$ for a PC? lmao. you can have a very nice gaming PC for around 600$ or less and have a solid gaming experience.
you overpaid for that 4790K junk this much? I used that CPU before as well and dumped it in 2019 thankfully
Me, I keep using Win10 til I get a new pc and it'll have the newest Win on it. Which won't be in the upcoming years.
People do realise that just because Microsoft stops supportin it, this won't mean that Steam will drop support for it. Or did people on Win7 already forget that Valve supported Win7 much longer than Microsoft did?
