Will AI usher the new age of leisure?
In the 1960s, they predicted an age of human leisure where robots would complete menial tasks.

Will AI usher in this new era and will it be an age of human leisure?

Yeah, it will.
hopefully, doing stuff is annoying
Unless you have the money to pay for it, no.

Even if we have enough robots to do the work for all of us, its owner won't give it for free.
I already have lazy down to an art...Don't need no fancy programming to give me advice...

What if it owns itself?

Prepare to be slave. :cozykcdaxe:
No. Current "AI" is not reliably functional and tends to create more work than without. And if we ever develop actual AI (which has now been renamed to AGI) it'll cause an apocalyptic war since the countries which lack the ability to program an AI will be forced to try to launch wars to shut down the country that has the ability to do so before the AI allows the dominant country to fully take over the earth.

Theres zero evidence of a human like 'sentience' being possible in AI, its still a software bound by coding, a very advanced one at that. It'll be about profit making
