If there's Millenial writing, what about Zoomer writing?
Millennial writing in a nutshell: Socially akward dialogue, excessive swearing, attempts to be hip and cool, and stuff that wouldn't be out of place on the Evil Red Website.

I think Zoomer Writing is difficult to put a finger on (since most of them can't write ha ha), but I have ways to put a concrete way on what it could be. Since millenial writing is trying to be edgy or random, i'd say zoomer writing would do everything in its power to throw subtley and cleverness and all dignity out the window

Ultra Loud Sound Effects, and by loud, I mean blowing out your ears to where you get a seizure, played for laughs
Characters shouting dialogue
Not really any proper "jokes" with setups or punchline, just throaway dialogue or actions
Im So RaNdOm

I think it's hard to criticize this brand of writing because it doesn't really exist yet, let alone on a large scale like millenial writing, but if it does, then it could rock the whole of pop culture once again.

Only example i could think of zoomer writing, which i absolutely loathe is SMG4. It checks the boxes such as loud = funny, random sentence = funny, and subtly and cleverness being a crime

these are just my thoughts from what i see. I'm not what they call "terminally online", so if i come off as mean or out of the loop, i'm sorry

Gen a writing: skividi skibidi toilet skibididi
I'm a professor of English.

The Z cohort isn't functionally different from either of the other two that came before in terms of compositional ability; some are quite good, some are passable, and some are awful.

The existence of "Italian Brainrot" (I was introduced to this by a student last year) has more to do with their humor--which is, yes, loud, about as subtle as a brick, and overwrought--rather than their faculty with written communication.

i think its pretty stupid when older ppl try to stereotype gen z and then just describe normal teenage behavior.. half of gen z is still in high school, idk what you expect lol

im 20 & have older friends, we're not like that, one of my best friends is a 32 year old millennial man, we get along really well and have great conversations, there's literally no intelligence gap, you're out of touch imo

When you are older you will realise there is 'that' gap and appreciate the older friends unspoken tolerances of you in previous years.
