earth is overpopulated
some people claim
yet when you take a look outside the cities, it's mostly empty land
when you take a plane, all you see is empty land
you guys have been outside the cities right?

so how could earth be overpopulated if there are no humans in most of the land?

sure someone can say why would they lie
It took around 100,000 years to reach a billion population. The next billion population is expected to take around 15 years. If it's not over populated now, it soon will be.

I have once back in 2018 and I know what you mean. All this talk about overpopulation when we got all this space here to use for housing.
Just because we can fit 8 billion people shoulder to shoulder in Los Angeles doesn’t mean the earth needs 100 trillion people.

Today on "what am agricultural space, and why do we need it to feed the massive population we already have?"
No it isn't.
The Earth is far from being overpopulated... like by a lot... as in "not even close".

This mindset comes from particularly sick people who advocate things like genocide and mass-murder. It's a damn lie.

The truth is that our species is growing, and there are a lot of stupid people around. We need to be more responsible with our limited resources, that much is clear. In terms of arable land, food security, etc. we are just fine. In fact, there is plenty of room to grow.

As a species, we haven't even begun to work together to address these problems... and there's a reason for that. The reason is that we don't have to... because overpopulation isn't a thing.
If I look at the graph of human population, then I would be surprised civilization as we know it as of today will still exist.

Capitalism causes most people in a country to go to major cities for higher wages, especially the capital city

Whenever countries try to fix the problem by adopting communism, they get their governments overthrown by the CIA
We need empty land, and trees, for oxygen
Nature is beautiful outside of cities, and it must be preserved

Just like you won't see a bunch of people walking in a Desert.

Most people are in the cities/towns etc, not outside of them (what would they be doing besides walking?)

It doesn't mean the world isn't overpopulated. People keep having babies on the daily. Soon, we'll be extremely overpopulated and then you might see people walking around those "empty" lands.
Because so many people are shut in now, very rarely go outside. BUT so MANY houses, condos and apartments are VACANT and ACTUALLY for sale.

Haven't seen municipal streets flooded with people and cars going out to party every Friday through Sunday for at least twenty five if not thirty years. No backups no traffic jams and no traffic flooding and congesting the streets. ALWAYS VERY LOOSE, closer to abandoned than congested.

Twentieth century EVERYTHING was PACKED and FLOODED! ALMOST EVERY HOUSE and EVERY BAR and restaurant EVERY Friday thru Sunday. Every store was flooded from open to close every Friday thru Sunday because people were constantly going out to get supplies for their parties.

That was another generation.
Right, as you said, it’s because everyone is crowded in and around major cities. Big cities being a hub of commerce and human interaction has always existed, but the Industrial Revolution, the explosion of factories, the promise of the American Dream made all the young people move from rural areas to cities and suburbs, looking for greener grass. More and more people joining the urban rat race.

Now everybody is trapped in debt, comfortable, and overly-dependent on modern conveniences, so it’s now really hard to get out.
Why is every single comment in this thread "awaiting analysis"?

Also;

"Every day humans come one step closer to self destruction. I am not destroying the world, I am saving it!

Has it never occurred to you that this planet is overpopulated? Only a handful of humans truly matter. Everyone else is just so much chaff. So now I have to separate this chaff from the wheat. And with Uroburos I can finally accomplish this!"
Yes, but it’s not only living space, you have to take in consideration the farmland that each human needs to grow it’s food. And you can’t hold cattle and grow crops everywhere. As far as I know our planet can feed up to 12 billion people with our current agricultural efficiency.

However, one very significant sign of overpopulation is the rampant stupidflation. With less and less braincells being available for each human.

(I’m a Donut so I don’t count into the equation.)
