What did you think? Did you like it?

I just binged the first season and I thought it was ok, not great but decent. Haven't started season 2 yet, though.

Only parts I didn't like was the UNSC in-fighting and Kwan/Soren plotlines; all the scenes/plotlines of Chief trying to punch Halsey or Chief or other Spartans fighting Halsey or Chief fighting the other Spartans and so on. I wish those plotlines didn't exist because you know watching them that they're not actually going to kill each other so they come off as pointless filler plotlines cloaked in 'character building'. I feel like much of it could've been avoided by just having characters be honest with one another earlier in the season. As for Halsey, it looks they're trying to set her up as a villain in the season 1 finale which is really lame. I could be wrong, but I expect she'll be back working with the Chief at some point in season 2 anyway. The Prophets/Covenant are the bad guys - all this UNSC in-fighting is lame.

As for Kwan/Soren, I liked Kwan and especially Soren but their plotlines also seemed wasted. Would've been better if Kwan wasn't some 'chosen' resistance fighter but just a some random colonist who is saved by Chief and then enlists in the UNSC. Would've been nice to have a pov character who is marine grunt recruit who is sorta seeing and learning new things alongside the viewer to aid in the world building. Soren's character could've been rewritten as Sgt. Johnson from the games and been her platoon leader, etc.
