I wouldnt apologize except to close friends and family, no reason to
Depends, if it's something major, I'll probably let them hit me, but if it's minor a simple "I apologise for said behaviour" tends to work.
drop the pride and ego. speak calmly. be honest with no excuses and take accountability. make the change and effort with sincerity.
well, first you have to mean it.

Smile was just baring of teeth?

Wrong someone? Was the dubbing that bad?

REALLY gonna have to spill more exacting of occurrence.

Do you shoot a basket backwards instead of ever passing while in their face?
Get your own quarterback tackled?
Started chanting while running circles on a track and field meet?
Did yoga in a laundrymat to help dry clothes and someone slipped and fell?

Depends on who it is and what it is for. A lot of the time I'd say just apologize if it'll make you feel better about it.

At the same time, depending on the context, I'd probably tell you do not apologize to them. They may not deserve any apology

Sincerely Repent.
I mean, if you actually feel you've wronged someone.

Here's a basic guide on that, if you've not heard of the concept.

isn't that how you ensure they won't ever become your friends?
really depends.... some people are addicted to saying sorry and making words worthless
I’d say that if they’re willing to listen to you, that’s already a good sign that the relationship can be repaired. Be honest, show humility, and sincerely apologize for the hurt you’ve caused. Acknowledge your mistake without blaming others or circumstances, show you’re committed to avoiding the same error in the future. If you did your best and they refused to forgive you, the problem likely wasn’t with you. :dinocoffee:
