i was debating on becoming a forest fire fighter to help with the wild fires in canada
however, they make you share a room with multiple people, give you no safety equipment and pay extremely poorly only 16 dollars canadian=12 dollars american, u aint bringing much or anything home after the season is over

seems like volunteer slave labor

anyone tried this type of job irl?

edit:ima not take this job it does not pay enough money for even rent 1 bedroom apartment where i live, guna stop replying

yup i dont wana share a room with anyone, id rather sleep outside

part of my culture is men are not to share a room with other men

guess no firefighting for me

i might reconsider tho, i saw a place where they do let u have ur own room but u gotta pay them for ur own room

You do it out of obligation to the community and nation, not for the money.

but if i took this job i would become homeless because it cant cover the bills where i live, u go fight fires for 7 months then ur expected to go come recover then go back
Then don't do it. Go so sell cars or manage a fast food restaurant or something. Why are you complaining about it on this forum.

It's "you are" or "you're" not "ur".
